Diego’s journey in sound started in his native Colombia. It is there he decided to skip his organ lessons and learn to play drums instead. This decision led him to collaborate with local bands and friends, experimenting with his first recordings and demos while still in high school.
He began his education in audio at Miami College and the SAE Institute's audio engineering program. After working in the South Florida music scene for a couple of years, his love for cinema and sound design drove him to New York City. There he has acquired more than 10 years of experience in sound design and audio post production while being part of HOBO Audio, one of the top audio post boutiques in NYC.
Diego has been awarded multiple times with the prestigious Telly Award for his sound design work in film and advertising. His creative work is featured on networks such as Netflix, NBC Sports, YouTube Originals, Hulu, AppleTV, Nicktoons and NatGeo. He has also had a influential hand in campaigns for brands including MasterClass, Peloton, Starbucks, Google, Nintendo, Patron, Disney and more. In 2018 Diego was also nominated for a sound editing MPSE Golden Reel Award for his work on the Netflix documentary 'Amanda Knox.'
All these credentials can make for a great audio professional, but it’s Diego's unwavering passion for sound and creativity that will always bring a powerful and distinctive touch to your projects.
